Flash Bach
Filmoteca de Catalunya (Sala Chomón) - 8.00 P.M.
A screening of the film Saraband (2003) by Ingmar Bergman. The title refers to a movement of the Bach cello suite which forms part of the soundtrack. Bergman presents a work of musical architecture, with ten movements, a prelude and a coda, grouping the film’s characters by twos since the sarabande was a dance for couples in which the man and the woman alternately drew closer and apart. The great film director thus offers a well-conceived metaphor illustrating people’s emotional relationships.
