Breaking Bach

Mies van der Rohe Pavilion - 09.00 P.M.

This is an artistic proposal around the figure of Paul Hindemith, German composer and contemporary of the architect Mies van der Rohe. The relationship between the two is evident in the fact that they were pioneers and highly influential figures in their respective creative fields, as well as because both were forced into exile in the United States due to the Nazi regime.
The prestigious violist Isabel Villanueva will perform a program that includes works by Hindemith and Bach, among which the famousChaconne, and the concert will be enriched with the presence of an actress who will recite reflections of Hindemith himself on the Bachian universe.

Interspersing music with the composer’s first-person words, the proposal offers the audience an intimate and deeply contextualized experience in collaboration with the Greek Festival.
