Cantatas Cycle (BWV 87, 108 i 176)

Museu de la Música (Sala Teclats) - 20.00 H

This programme is based on Bach’s collaboration with a Leipzig poet, Christiana Mariana von Ziegler, in the months April and May 1725, when she wrote the text of nine consecutive cantatas of the Bach cycle.

Ziegler was the first woman to become a member of the Deutsche Gesellschaft and to publish her own poems – a truly exceptional achievement in that period. On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of this artistic confluence, we are proud to celebrate her importance by presenting three beautiful cantatas with her texts.
