Cantatas Cycle (BWV 93 i 170)

Museu de la Música (Sala Teclats) - 08.00 P.M.

Taking two cantatas as a starting point, we propose a journey through Bach’s music that begins with the stark melodies of his chorales and goes on to show us the subsequent polyphonic development to be found in his virtuoso works for organ. As always seeking coincidences with texts, we will also offer a dialogue with two wonderful composers who stand close to Bach’s aesthetic and sensitivity: Christoph Graupner (1683-1760) and Johann Christoph Bach (1642-1703), the latter a musician deeply loved by Johann Sebastian, who considered him “the family’s greatest and most expressive composer”.
