Domestic Bach

La Fàbrica Lliure - 8.00 P.M.

This concert presents two jewels of the violin and basso continuo repertoire. These pieces are the Sonata in G major BWV 1021 – an example of a sonata da chiesa with its four contrasting movements – and the Sonata in E minor BWV 1023, which has a freer spirit from the formal standpoint, substituting the traditional structure with a sequence including dances such as the allemande and gigue. These two works reveal the essence of Bach’s chamber music, displaying a complete mastery of counterpoint while integrating the Italian style which the composer so deeply loved.
